COLUER Warranty Policy – for purchases made before 5/30/2019
Replacement Procedures and Responsibility
The purchase that you did includes this warranty, which replaces any other expressed by another entity. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights, yet those can vary from country to country.
Without prejudice of the legal guarantee (non nominative), the COLUER warranty applies exclusively to the initial buyer, being this considered the juridical nominative person standing in the purchase invoice of the COLUER authorized distributor.
Our full suspension frames, carbon frames, electric frames, folding frames and “dirt jump” frames have a limited legal warranty of 2 years from the date stated on the registered invoice issued by the authorized Coluer distributor. As an exception to this rule, hardtail carbon frames will have a 3-year warranty as of the date stated on the registered invoice issued by the authorized Coluer distributor.
Aluminum, steel and cromoly hardtail frames enjoy a lifetime warranty.
The warranty is applied exclusively against manufacturing and assembly defects, provided that the bicycle belongs to the initial purchaser, and that it appears in invoice or in the guarantee leaflet, and that the bike is equipped with the original assembly. To obtain the warranty extension, please register your bike at www.coluer.com.
If a failure of the frame occurs (disruption/break), due to manufacturing and assembly defects, during the warranty period, it will be analysed and repaired whenever possible and, ultimately, it will be replaced. In these cases, please contact COLUER’s authorized dealer, in order to analyse the nature of the defect.
To claim the warranty, it will be necessary to submit the purchase document, with the model reference, purchase date and the establishment name where the bicycle was acquired (invoice). The mentioned data must be, afterwards, sent to the address indicated in this manual. The frame must be sent for analysis, and if there are shipping costs, these will be analysed case by case and imputed by mutual agreement. Notice: the fork is not part of the frame, with the exception of rigid forks.
A lifetime warranty of the frame does not guarantee that it will last forever. The service life is variable, depending on the type of bicycle, its use conditions and care. Competition, jump, downhill practice, tricks, trial and riding in extreme conditions or adverse climatic conditions, or riding with heavy loads or any other non-standard use can substantially reduce the lifetime of the product. Any of the described conditions or any combination of those can result in a failure (disruption/break) which is not covered by this warranty.
All bicycles and frames must be verified periodically by an authorized dealer, in order to inform of potential sources of problems, inadequate use or abuse. These security verifications are very important and help in preventing accidents, bodily injuries to the cyclist as well as preventing the reduction of the service life of the product. At least one time per year the frame should be analysed by the COLUER authorized dealer.
With the exception of the components subject to the normal wear and tear, all components of the bicycle have a legal warranty of 2 years, starting from the purchase date by the original buyer, against defects or its defective application. If a failure occurs in a component due to a manufacturing defect or its defective application, the component must be repaired if possible, and ultimately replaced.
All warranty claims must be submitted to INTER BIKE – Importação, Exportação, Lda, through the COLUER authorized establishment where you acquired the product, and accompanied by the purchase document (invoice). Any other warranty claim that does not comply to the conditions above mentioned will be considered as ‘not applicable’.
The components of other brands with warranty and after sale service will be covered by the original warranty of each manufacturer; both the final customer and the authorized Coluer distributor must accept the warranty policy and procedures required by these manufacturers.
IMPORTANT: You should request, as a matter of internal control and warranty approval, that the COLUER authorized dealer puts, in the purchase invoice, the bike chassis serial number, being this one preferably registered in a mechanical way in the invoice. In case it is not possible, it should come manuscript and signed by the shop responsible.
Warranty conditions – Exclusions
It is the obligation of the seller to deliver the instruction manual that accompanies your bicycle, so please request at point of sale where you purchase your bicycle that manual, where you will find all the relevant information for the use and enjoyment of your bicycle, as well as conditions of the warranty.
The legal warranty or the additional one offered by COLUER does not cover the appearance of rust in steel frames and components after 2 years, as well as the components with normal tear and wear and transformations done to the bicycle.
The warranty does not apply to damages resulted from accidents, abuses, incorrect use, negligence, theft or robbery.
Any damage inflicted to the painting/decoration of the product, due to the use of high-pressure washing machines or due to the application/removal of adhesives, stickers or frame protection tape, is not covered by this warranty.
Certain components and paints used on the bicycles, to obtain the desired visual and design effect, have a lower resistance to direct sun exposure, which over time can alter their appearance and / or coloration. The aforementioned cases are expressly excluded from the application of this warranty.
Your bicycle was designed and conceived to be used for general transportation and recreation. It was not designed to sustain acrobatics and jumps.
The warranty loses its claim from the moment it is used for rental or ridding it with more than one person at the same time, as well as carrying weight beyond its maximum limit, its use in professional or amateur competitions, or commercial and industrial use.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure that all components included in the sealed accessories box, coming from the factory, are correctly assembled, that all components are functioning and are tuned properly, and that the maintenance services necessary to maintain the bicycle in proper conditions are properly done by an authorized COLUER dealer.
This warranty does not apply to damages incurred from improper assembly of components or failures conducted in the maintenance and adjustments of the bicycle.
Any claims related with the above described situations will be refused.
